چکیده

Linear filter approach might be the most commonly used method for continuous-time identification. Recently we have proposed a new linear filter method for simultaneous estimation of time delay and other parameters of continuous-time models in (Ahmed et al., 2006). The proposed method involves choice of filter parameters and the filter structure is restricted to all real pole form. In this paper, the linear filter method is presented for a general structure of the filter. Also the filter parameters are updated iteratively. Next, an algorithm is prescribed to make this method applicable when the output is sampled irregularly. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm, results from a simulation example as well as an experimental example are presented. Copyright c ©2006 IFAC.

Refined Instrumental Variable Identification of Continuous-Time OE and BJ Models from Irregularly Sampled Data

This paper looks at the problem of system identification from non-uniformly sampled input-output data. It describes how refined instrumental variable estimators can be derived to directly identify the parameters of continuous-time output error and Box-Jenkins transfer function models from irregularly sampled data. Monte Carlo simulation analysis is used to illustrate the properties of the propo...

Frequency Domain Identification of Continuous-Time ARMA Models: Interpolation and Non-uniform Sampling

In this paper is discussed how to estimate irregularly sampled continuous-time ARMA models in the frequency domain. In the process, the model output signal is assumed to be piecewise constant or piecewise linear, and an approximation of the continuous-time Fourier transform is calculated. ML-estimation in the frequency domain is then used to obtain parameter estimates.

The Cramér-rao Bound for Estimation of Continuous-time Arx Parameters from Irregularly Sampled Data

The Cramér-Rao bound for estimation of parameters in continuous-time ARX models from irregularly sampled data is computed. In the derivation, the Slepian-Bangs formula is used together with a state space framework, resulting in a closed form expression for the Cramér-Rao bound. Copyright c ©2005 IFAC

Sub-optimal Estimation of HIV Time-delay Model using State-Dependent Impulsive Observer with Time-varying Impulse Interval: Application to Continuous-time and Impulsive Inputs

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) weakens the immune system in confronting various diseases by attacking to CD4+T cells. In modeling HIV behavior, the number of CD4+T cells is considered as the output. But, continuous-time measurement of these cells is not possible in practice, and the measurement is only available at variable intervals that are several times bigger than sampling time. In this...

Uncovering delayed patterns in noisy and irregularly sampled time series: An astronomy application

We study the problem of estimating the time delay between two signals representing delayed, irregularly sampled and noisy versions of the same underlying pattern. We propose and demonstrate an evolutionary algorithm for the (hyper)parameter estimation of a kernel-based technique in the context of an astronomical problem, namely estimating the time delay between two gravitationally lensed signal...
